long week

I’ve been a bad blogger this week!  You would think that I would maybe blog more since I got my own domain, but maybe not.  It’s been a hard week at work, which kind of rains on the rest of my parade of life.  I ended up in tears on Wednesday night at work…just too overwhelmed with everything I had to do.  The other nurses on the floor are amazingly supportive and wanted to help me out in anyway they could, but I just feel bad because I hate crying at work (or ever)…it’s so hard to get back on track once I feel like I’m in over my head.  Everyone else is busy too!  I just wonder when the time is going to come that I’m not going to let it get to me and a big deep breath actually works instead of just working me up even more.

Let’s just say I’ve started at my phone the past two days waiting to be called off.  However, with tons of people being admitted with “fever,” we’re pretty much at capacity.  Funny how I don’t want to be called off and then I get called off, and now I can’t wait to get called off and it doesn’t happen!  Oh well…

on the run

In brighter news, I’ve been running well!  I’ve been taking it easy with lighter mileage and my legs seem to be responding well.  No pain (other than the fact that I need to stretch more), and my running gait is normal…yay!

Thursday, October 29
6.08 miles in 48:09, avg pace of 7:55

I was having a really downer of a day on Thursday, and it’s so true that running is therapeutic.  I didn’t feel 100% better when I returned, but it definitely helped.  With  my month off of running, I definitely felt worse about myself and had a harder time dealing with my job.  At least I’ve got running back, even though it’s not quite full force marathon training.

Friday, October 30
5.05 miles in 39:40, avg pace of 7:51

Awesome weather for running!!  I would love to have it be mid-50’s and cloudy for marathon day…it would be perfect!  I hope it at least sticks around for Jesse, the Laminator, and NYWolve as they run the NYC Marathon this weekend!  Good luck to everyone!

i’m a winner!

Erika (aka Sperly) over at RunRoamRecycle hosted a “Fall Foods” contest…and I won!  Although it was random, I would like to thank the Pumpkin Stew for making this happen.  I can’t wait to see the goodies!!  I will definitely share them with all of you.

I must be having some good luck lately since I won the Frayed Laces Special earlier this month.  :)

Time to get ready for work…nothing beats the Friday before Halloween at the hospital!  We’ll see if anything interesting happens.  :)

I’m sorry about your rough week at work. I lost it a couple times when I was a waitress, and it was so embarrassing and hard to get over. I hope next week is better!

At least your leg seems to be behaving! No pain, yay!

Oh Susan, I wish I lived near you so we could cheer each other up! It makes me sad when you have bad days at work. At least you are able to run–thank goodness for that.

…OH and of course to start our bakery!!!

it was definitely the pumpkin stew… Random.org knew how good that looked and wanted to get in on the action ;)

i hope your day at the hospital was at least ok. stress seems to be like men.. when it rains it pours. mmm wait no that doesn’t work – raining men is a good thing. raining.. stress..? is not. i’ll be back with a better analogy…
