Halloween Central!

I’m not usually into Halloween parties (or theme parties in general…I’m boring), but I do like all things Halloween, so this was a good weekend.  (Hello….candy anyone??  I should buy stock in sugar…seriously.)  Anyway, the Halloween festivities actually started about two weeks ago when I hunted down some pumpkins for the Rocket Scientist and me to carve.  Let the fun begin:

PUMPKINS!

Pumpkins 2009 (7)Gotta have a pumpkin beer when carving pumpkins!!

Pumpkins 2009 (8) The Rocket Scientist hard at work cleaning out his pumpkin!

Pumpkins 2009 (2)  My Philadelphia-inspired “love” pumpkin!

Pumpkins 2009 (3) The Rocket Scientist’s Phillies pumpkin!  Too bad it didn’t keep until this weekend!  The Phillies could use some help cheering tonight!

CUPCAKES!

My latest cupcake creation…MUMMY CUPCAKES!  I saw these cupcakes on a website somewhere a couple weeks ago when I was looking for “fall themed” cupcakes and I knew I had to make them…they were just too cute!  Check it out:

Mummy Cupcakes (3) Too scary to eat!!

Mummy Cupcakes (2) I love them!!

They were easy to make too…just lots and lots of white stripes and some M&M’s for the eyes.  I’ll take any excuse to sneak M&M’s into something!

THE PARTY

The Rocket Scientist and I headed into Philly (in the pouring rain!) to go to a party that his friend was having.  They strongly encouraged people to dress up, but I’m kind of lacking in the creative costume department, so I grabbed a bunch of stuff before I headed out the door to Princeton on Saturday.  I think we ended up doing pretty good despite the last minute decision making…

Halloween Party 2009 (13)
I was a baker (complete with the mummy cupcakes from above!) and the Rocket Scientist was a UPS man.  His costume choices included either being a nurse or a UPS man, since whenever I wear my brown scrubs (the only scrubs I thought he would fit in), I feel like I should be working part-time at UPS or something.  I think it worked out pretty well.  :)

Halloween Party 2009 (9) The baker with a mummy cupcake!

Halloween Party 2009 There’s a hand in the punch!!

Halloween Party 2009 (15)
With some friends…a baker, a UPS man, a nurse with the old man she cares for, and a bride and groom back from the dead!  (They got married a month ago!)

Overall a pretty successful Halloween weekend!  What did you dress up as?
