Boy can i understand where u r coming from. If i had any idea what nursing was like, i would have never went to school for it. there is a nursing shortage, news flash, "it sucks." i have been a nurse since 2001. i work on a med-surg unit where we are the dump every pt u can on this floor. i have been written up for a "final" notice of c/o about a f'd up assignment. so one more f-up anything and my ass is out the door. this is comforting when i have an autistic son which my employers insurance will not cover his speech or ot therapy.

It never matters how much good u do, the only focus is on the bad. it would be nice on occassion to be shown that u r valued. we never get bonuses, but i am sure the executives do. i wish i could changed my jaded views, but i simply do not want to work in a hospital anymore, especially a for-profit.

Heyyyy, keep your head up about jobs, at some point in the future these years will be absolved from people's resumes and big changes, little progress and different positions will be written off as recession living. Given that we read all the time about how unhappy you are at your current position, I'm happy to read that you're thinking of trying something new.

I guess that is one reason I love NYC so much. People make a living here doing EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN. I saw a job posting the other day for a professional dog runner. Not walker, runner. I guess they had big dogs that needed to go for longer than a few city blocks. If you think something health or fitness related is a passion, you can make it happen here in New York. Maybe you should email Chandra at Chandra's Shenanigans about what it was like when she changed career paths. I know she is busy, but I know if you asked she would give some some real honest insight.

Aw! Hope you feel better! I went home sick today too...I have like 20 sick days accrued, and we don't get paid for them either, so I'm on a mission to make sure that they do not go to waste.

Also, Durham is awesome. :) But, will you have to stop saying mean things about Duke if you go and work there? Probably not...

Haha I love how 'BAKERY' links to my site. Yes, I clicked it to see where it would take me. I was hoping for a pot of gold or something.

Get well soon, Nursey!

I hope you feel better! You know, even though those places rejected you, it is nice to hear back so quick! So places leave you hanging forever!
