point and shoot
When I was in Atlantic City this past weekend, I handed one of the girls my camera to take a picture, and she immediately said, “Wow! This is such an old camera!” I don’t know whether it was all the scratch marks on it or the fact that it’s not as slim as the new cameras, but it’s not even that old! My lovely camera is from 2006…okay, I guess that’s old by camera standards. I’m super cheap so I’ve been putting off buying a new camera, but there is a spot on the lens that I can’t seem to get off no matter how much I try to clean it. Check it out below:
Black smudge right above the rooster!
Perhaps it’s time for a new camera. This is where I turn to you, my blogger friends. If you’re a food blogger, you’re definitely more in the know when it comes to cameras. If you’re an everything else blogger, you probably take plenty of pictures as well. What type of camera do you have? While I would love a super nice camera, I just don’t think it’s practical for me since I just throw my camera in my purse and go! Maybe one day. I’m looking for a point and shoot that takes nice pictures. I have a Sony currently, so I might want to stay with that so I can keep my memory cards. (Then again, I think you can get them pretty cheap these days.) Let me hear your thoughts!

I woke up this morning thinking that I only had to run four miles today, which I don’t even consider to be much of a “run.” It takes me nearly that long to warm up and get into it! That’s what I get for running marathons, I guess. Also, it takes me a little over half an hour to run four miles, and I can do anything for half an hour whether I’m feeling it or not. After I got dressed to run, I had a funny feeling that four miles wasn’t quite right. Checking the schedule, I realized that five miles were on deck for today! Although it was only one mile more, I was a little let down. My little stroll turned into a real run! Well, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I was making it out to be…another run to check off!
Wednesday, August 18
5.22 miles in 40:41, avg pace of 7:48
It was actually a little cooler today, with weather.com saying it was in the 70s! It’s still humid as can be and I was literally dripping sweat when I got home. I’m ready for some cooler days (not COLD, but cooler) as these runs are getting longer! Soon, soon.

i have a cheapie camera but i love it
its a nikon coolpix and its perfect for me… small, cheap (incase i break it) and takes decent pics. its also small enough to carry when i want to run.
i REALLY want a fancy camera but just cant spend the money either – someday
Nikon Coolpix P80. It might be bigger than you are looking for but it’s great for point and shoot.
I have a Canon Powershot. I got mine about 2 or 3 years ago but it still works great. They’ve probably updated it since then but I think it has a 10x zoom. It doesn’t have a rechargeable battery but that’s part of the reason I got it. When I went to China I wasn’t sure I’d be able to recharge my camera frequently so really that was the deciding factor. It takes great pictures and although it’s not as slim as some, it’s not that bulky either. I tend to just toss it in my purse and go. My best friend got a Nikon Coolpix and she really likes that too.
After attedning HLS, I’m looking at Nikons or a Cannon Rebel. I still haven’t decided. Right now, I use a simple point & shot: Cannon sd1100 and use a great photo editing website, just discovered. I hear the Cannon is lovely.
I got a Sony Cybershot point and shoot this past Christmas and love it! Takes great pictures!! I am so ready for cooler temps too, so over the heat!
I have a very old camera as well, but I really think that while the camera has something to do with taking good photos, having a good eye and being able to edit photos is equally beneficial. I don’t think you need a slr or anything fancy.
All of my photos are taken with a very old Fuji Finepix (maybe 5 megapixels), and it does an ok job. Eventually I’d love to upgrade to a Canon, but just a point and shoot would be fine.
I do love the investment I made with an SLR, but they have some awesome point and shoots nowadays for not that much at all. I like the newest version of Sony Cybershot and Canon. Nice run! I am ready for a cool down as well, it’s hot and muggy today. In spin I was dripping!
I have the same nikon coolpix that aron has. It was cheap which is good, b/c I already broke one (dropping it with the lens out..oooops!). It takes good pictures too and is light so I’ve carried it on some runs w/me. I’m planning on getting a SLR if I can complete my project 365. Yay rewards!
I have a Sony CyberShot that works well, but I have heard great things about Canon cameras. I may consider making a switch when I eventually kill this one (it’s bound to happen, my digital cameras get broken at least once a year.)
That is too funny! I have a Cannon Powershot, that was inexpensive.
Late to the party as I’m catching up on my google reader but I have 2 cameras: a point and shoot and DSLR that I bought in December. I own a Panasonic Lumix that I;ve had for 4+ years. Great camera and I highly recommend this brand. I use this one to take on runs and when I know it’s not practical to schlep a big DSLR around (Nikon D90).
