On a Dessert Island…

Last week, my fabulous blog friend (and real life friend!) Allie over at Live Laugh Eat tagged me as one of her “desert island” friends.  I’m not exactly sure what a “desert island friend” is, but I’m assuming it means that she would like to take me with her if she had to pick seven people to be on a deserted island with her.  However, with our tales of opening a bakery together, I like to think that it would be DESSERT Island.  Obviously.

Allie wanted us to answer these questions:

1. For which reality show would you want to be a judge?  Probably Top Chef (Just Desserts??) since I would get to eat allllll the delicious food!

2. If you could interview anyone in the world, who would you choose?  Lou Gehrig.  (Do they have to be alive?)  I wrote a paper on him my senior year of high school…quite an interesting man!

3. What is one piece of advice you would tell your 3rd grade self?  Being cool is overrated.  Do what you like, wear what you want to wear…life is too short to worry about what others think.

4. If you could have a role in any movie/TV show (already released), which would you choose? (Harry Potter!! I had to answer that one myself :)Rory from Gilmore Girls!!  I was so jealous of her life…

5. What is your favorite dessert (be specific!)?  Turkey Hill Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream.  It’s probably the only thing I miss about living in Pennsylvania…

6. If you could magically be fluent in another language, which would you choose?  If I wanted to be practical, I would say Spanish.  However, I took seven years of German and never became fluent, so it would be nice to have something to show for that.

7. What is one item on your holiday wish list? Make sure your family members read your answer!  Glee on DVD!

If I headed to a dessert desert island and needed to pick seven bloggers to come with me, I’d tell Jeri, Erika, Lauren, Janae, Matt, Erica, and Jess

These are my questions for my Spectacular Seven:

1.  What’s the latest book you would recommend reading?
2.  What’s your favorite holiday cookie?
3.  You have to sing karaoke:  What song are you singing?
4.  When you were four years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
5.  What are you most proud of in 2010?
6.  You have the day off to do whatever you want…what are your plans?
7.  What’s on the top of your holiday wishlist?  (I need ideas!)

Looking forward to hearing your answers!

**********************************************************************************************************

Today I squeezed in a run after work and before watching my TERPS take on Elyssa’s Nittany Lions.  (TERPS prevailed, in case you were wondering.)  I watched out my patient’s windows as it POURED all day long, but it was dry on my way home and for my run.  It was about 8:30 by the time I got out the door, which made for a pretty solo run in the park.  I passed enough people so I didn’t feel like I was going to end up on Law and Order: SVU, but overall it was quiet and enjoyable…I really enjoy these night runs!  I kept the pace slow(er than usual…) to attempt some recovery.

Wednesday, December 1 – (When did that happen??)
5.08 miles in 41:57, avg pace of 8:15

Works for me.  :)   Off to bed for this nurse because I’ve got another twelve hours on the schedule tomorrow!  Happy December!

For everyone to answer:  When you were four years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?  I wanted to be a mailman…not a mailwoman because in my books about careers, mailwomen wore skirts and there was no way you were going to catch me in a skirt!

Haha, a dessert island sounds much better than a desert island. :)

I always wanted to be a doctor until I realized that I can’t handle blood…at all. So I switched to a dietitian. :)

i used to want to be a farmer… not really sure why.

I love this! Such a fun post…and of course I’m honored that you’d choose me to hang out in your desert/dessert island with you. Could we run on the beach and then eat baked goods every day? That sounds like heaven. :)

I’ll have to come up with some answers this weekend. Some of those questions are tough. ;) Happy December!

I wanted to be a garbage man so I could ride on the back of the truck.

This is so fun! I can’t wait to do it! I loved getting to know you a little better and that ice cream sounds amazing. Glee is like my all time favorite show. Be careful running by yourself at night…I worry about you. Mailman awesome. You are going to have to wait for my answer:)

I love that your parents tell you to run more marathons because they LOVE watching YOU!! When is your next race….besides the random 26 mile Saturday morning runs:)

So honored I made the 7. Just imagine… we could spend our days re-enacting episodes of Glee. It would be awesome! But I get to date Puck, ok?
I need to think about these questions when I haven’t had a glass of wine (or 2)

I think you should definitely run up to other runners in Central Park!! I would love it if you came up and talked to me as I was running:)

Gah, I can’t even remember what I wanted to be when I was four! I don’t remember being four, actually.

I just wanted to say (somewhat off-topic) that you seem so much happier since you made the big move. Congratulations!! I hope you are loving it!

I desperately wanted to be Rory growing up too. She’s just so stinkin’ gorgeous and brilliant.

Hmmm when I was four I wanted to be a “baby doctor.” which is just funny b/c I’m terrified of babies. Hah.

Oh and thanks for bringing me along on your island! I can’t wait to do this post. :)
