Application for the Team Nuun 2011 Hood to Coast Relay!

Dear Nuun,
Please pick me to run the Hood to Coast Relay!!
Love,
Nurse on the Run

Last night at work, I was checking twitter, and Alyssa popped up with a tweet about a contest through Nuun, where twelve women bloggers will be chosen to run the Hood to Coast Relay this year!  So how does it work?  Well, we had to submit a “creative” application…creative being anything we wanted!  Something in writing, something on the blog, a video…

Well, if you’ve ever seen any of my creative undertakings (see:  Maryland vs Duke, Boston Marathon Signs), you know that challenging me to do something creative is not something I take lightly.  This is probably the result of being the daughter of an architect and an art teacher (hi dad and mom!), but I think it turns out pretty well for the most part.  So, I started wracking my brain and the wheels started turning…

Why?  Because I really want to run Hood to Coast!!  Back in January, I had the opportunity to see the Hood to Coast movie (catch my review of it here!).  This movie got me super, super pumped up to run my own relay, which I did May in the form of Reach the Beach.  I loved the movie, as it showed me what a beautiful course Hood to Coast is, and it told the stories of a wide variety of teams…even tugged at my heart a little!  Pass up the opportunity to try and run with a team full of women running bloggers (my favorites…)?  Not this girl!

So, therefore…I entered.  If you didn’t think I was crazy before, you might now.  Granted, most of you have never heard my voice, seen me in person, or any of the above.  Well, here’s your chance!  I made a video chronicling my adventures at the 2011 Hood to Coast Relay, meaning that I made the video as if it had already happened and I was chosen!  My hope is that I’ll actually get to make a real video after the fact.

Without further ado…

My Application Video for TEAM NUUN for the 2011 Hood to Coast Relay!

(If the video doesn’t work, just click here to see it on Youtube!)

Let me know what you think!  I may come across as a bit nuts, but I had a blast making the video, and I know I’ll have an AMAZING time if I get picked!!  Plenty of other awesome bloggers have applied, so I know there’s some stiff competition.  :)   Good luck to everyone, and I hope I get to see you on Mount Hood!

here’s where you come in

Leave a comment saying what an awesome relay member I would be (some of you have real experience with this!!), pass this along to your friends, and tweet @ministryofnuun saying that I (@susanruns) should be picked!  Thank you soooo much!

The chosen relayers will be picked on June 22nd, which is two days after my birthday!  That would be an amazing belated birthday present!  Wink wink  ;)

    I tweeted about this :)

You would make an awesome relay teammate – bad ass runner, able to work the night shift (i.e. stay up late), and you you’re a nurse (hello first aid skills!). Good luck!

Susan Rocks!!! No seriously, you do. Your fast, your hot, your funny & fun, and your a nurse which means if anyone gets hurt during the race, you can call out directions on how to save them as you speed past them. Hope you get picked!!!! I will be tweeting, facebooking & blogging for you! XO :)

Good luck Susan!! I forgot to comment until now! Make sure the NUUN people see your post about how you went above and beyond the call of duty for the Reach the Beach Relay. You would be a huuuuuuge asset to any relay team. Super fast, easy to get along and ready to push yourself to the max!
