Sometimes, blog posts just come to me and the words flow. Other times, I’m so excited about something that I’m not even quite sure how to put it into words. (And my high school English teacher once accused me of plagiarism, stating that the paper had ideas that were "too good to be my own." Same teacher also told me my college essays wouldn’t get me into college…LOOK AT ME NOW, SIR.) Anyway, someone out there likes reading my blog, and apparently that at least one of those "someones" happens to work at Runner’s World.
I was thrilled to be invited to a shake out run and dinner with Runner’s World in April at the Boston Marathon, and even more excited when I received an email inviting me to the 2013 Runner’s World Half & Festival. I remember reading about Katherine‘s adventure there last year and how awesome they sounded. So for the first time of many I’ll be saying this…thank you, Runner’s World!
(I mean, seriously…Runner’s World. Let me pinch myself.)
Anyway, I checked out the list of bloggers invited to the event and it runs the gamut…from my local runner Jocelyn (okay, she’s not going to be local very shortly!) to people I feel like I "know" but have never met. (Heather, I’m looking at you!) Basically, I’ll be smiling all weekend long.
…and maybe doing some running because that’s what this whole thing is all about, yes? Well, when it comes to running, I say go big or go home, so I’m all in for the Hat Trick. (My Blackhawks did win the Stanley Cup this year…I might as well hold up my end of the deal.) What’s the Hat Trick, you say? A 5k, 10k, and half marathon all in the same weekend.
Don’t tell me it’s not the best idea I’ve ever had…because I’m pretty sure it is. And the even better part? You can be part of the fun too! The October 20th date means awesome fall weather should be in store, and it’s a great time for a tune-up if you have a late November/December marathon. (Philly is also in PA, and a great race if you’re still looking for one…) It’s also a great time just to run, so you could do that too.
Everyone loves a good deal, so 10% should make you smile…you can register here and use the codes below:

There are seminars all weekend, discussing things from how to fuel (I like food, you like food, let’s go learn about it) to how to get faster (count me in…) to pacing the perfect race (I still have no idea how you do that). Basically, something for everyone.
So…as Laura from RW likes to end her emails to us by saying…"You ready for this??" Because I know I am.
