About
this is currently a work in progress but…
who is nurse on the run?
Hello! My name is Susan, otherwise known as Nurse on the Run. I’m a Chicago girl through and through, having spent seventeen years of my life in a suburb of the greatest city in the world. (Not that I’m biased or anything!) I spent my high school years on the cross country and track teams, as well as in the marching band. (Trombone chicks unite!) When I graduated from high school, I headed east to attend the University of Maryland (go terps!) and received a degree in dietetics in 2007. After graduation, I headed back to Chicago to attend nursing school at Rush University. After an intense one year accelerated program, I received a bachelors of science in nursing in December 2008.
My job search brought me to eastern Pennsylvania to be closer to my boyfriend, also known as The Rocket Scientist. I work at a community hospital on a medical/surgical floor, which basically means anything and everything. This blog helps to chronicle my life as a new nurse…which is quite an adventure!
Besides nursing, the main feature of my blog is running! I’ve been running since the sixth grade (that’s 1997 if you want specifics), so I’ve spent over half my life as a runner. I ran my first marathon in 2006…Marine Corps! My second was the 2007 Chicago Marathon, also known as the Heat Wave. The third time was the charm and I qualified for Boston in May 2009 at the Wisconsin Marathon with a time of 3:33. I look forward to running Boston in 2010 and many more marathons to come!

HI SUSAN!! Your new site (so exciting!!) just made my morning 239403 times better! I agree, this customization/web design stuff is super confusing. I spent many hours with my brows all funky trying to figure it out. I’m glad you took the plunge though! I think it’s totally worth it.
HOORAY!
Hi Susan!
I just love the new look of your site. Just noticed the quote in the upper right hand corner about wanting to look good naked. SO true! Love it
